Contre-Jour and Structures
James Wilson
Sep13 2012 - Oct 17 2012
Wilson's stunning collections of stark architectural images evoke a sense of comparative scale. Though buildings and sky are fairly common sights for most people, Wilson's images make one want to consider them further. The rich blue sky provides a perfect frame for impressive feats of human ingenuity. The images lit from behind are from the Contre-Jour collection, or "against daylight" in French.

First Impressions
Jennifer Hardin
Mar 26 2011 - Sep 12 2012
In asking each person to write down something about themselves that most people don’t know, Jennifer brings a new dimension to her portrait triptychs. The face each subject puts on for the camera contrasts with their handwritten statement. With this combination, Jennifer allows the viewer to see the more deeply into the personality of the subject within the images.

Mi Arequipa
David Kachel
Feb 19 2011 - Mar 25 2011
Nestled in the harsh landscape of the foothills of a dormant volcano in Southwestern Peru, amongst desolate peaks and forests of stone, lies the city of Arequipa in the department of the same name. The centuries-old Santa Catalina convent within covers several city blocks near the central plaza, and its sillar (pearl-colored volcanic rock) walls have weathered frequent earthquakes over the years.

Djstortion #1
Djstortion
Dec 11 2010 - Jan 14 2011
Djstortion's Frontier Xerography gives new artistic meaning to "copy of a copy of a copy." Each piece in the series is a photocopy manipulation of the previous piece, often moving the art on the glass as the image is scanned by the machine, or focusing on a small area of the image. Many works are artistically brilliant as individual pieces, but the entire series is unique as a process.

Crepuscular Consequence
Lafcadio Adams
Nov 6 2010 - Dec 10 2010
Twilight and dawn provide a unique perspective for photographers and for connoisseurs of nature alike.
Lafcadio Adams's take on this low-light time of day evokes a sense of beauty and sleepiness, and Adams's intense colors serve more as a reminder of the feeling the experience produces, rather than a record of reality.

In the Tidepool
Daogreer Earth Works
Oct 2 2010 - Nov 5 2010
Rocky shores and wave-beaten headlands are host to an untold plethora of varied fauna. The right combination of location, timing, and serendipity are essential to finding many of the wonders tide pools contain. That, and patience and aquarium admission fees. Sea life photography by Daogreer Earth Works employs a combination of both.
