David Kachel is a long-time fine art photographer working exclusively in black and white. He is a former Contributing Editor to Darkroom & Creative Camera Techniques magazine and has been published in numerous other magazines on four continents and in multiple languages.
Determined to wait until materials and image quality were up to his high standards, Kachel made the transition to digital capture and printing only two years ago. Kachel is the inventor of more than a dozen advanced tone and contrast control techniques for fine art photographers, but he can do so much more with these new digital tools that he will never go back to analog printing.
